Alumina Ceramic shafts and Bearings 95% Alumina Shield Pump Components Circulating Pump Part Wear Resistance
The Dimensions of the ceramic shaft is φ12*L120mm, whose material is 95% Alumina or Aluminum Oxide, Al2O3. And its color white. It is usually applied as pump components instead of metal shafts in variant pumps like micro pump, shield pump, circulating pump, centrifugal pump, impeller pump, magnetic drive pump, ground source heat pump, aquarium pump, fountain pump etc.
Alumina ceramics have many advantages over other materials such as low density, extreme hardness, outstanding surface finish, non-magnetic &electrical insulator, striking thermal properties and pretty good corrosion resistance.
Density of 95% alumina ceramics is about 3.7g/cm^3, much lighter than metal bearings, which means less weight and abrasion. That helps reduce the electricity consumption, as well as electric charge.
The Vickers Hardness of 95% alumina ceramics is about 18Gpa, which means ceramic bearings wear considerably less and last much longer than metal bearings.
The roughness of alumina ceramics usually less than 0.25um, much smoother than metal bearings. The smoother the bearings, the less friction, and the more efficient.
If there is tough demands on shafts in a non-magnetic working environment, ceramic bearings are more suitable than metal bearings.
When ceramic bearings in performance are heating up, they expand little and can endure thermal shock if temperature changes sharply, and remain good performance without degrading.
The alumina ceramics are non-corrosive and won’t be corroded like metal bearings in alkali or acid conditions.
