Alumina ceramics is a non-organic material with much higher hardness than metallic parts. Because of the universal existence of aluminum and oxygen, the price of alumina material maintain a comparatively lower price than other materials.
Usually at room temperature the alumina powder with bonding agent is molded into solid green bodies with expected dimensions. Then the green bodies are sent into a hot tunnel stove to be fired, which process is known as sintering. After sintering, alumina ceramic parts will achieve its typical material properties.

This means using alumina ceramic parts is friendly to environment and is good for its protection
Brown technical ceramics, which contains materials like Ti, Mn, effectively increase its hardness and makes the pumps in which contains ceramics bearings and shafts run much longer time and still remain stable with little abrasion.
