Yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) is a ceramic in which the cubic crystal structure of zirconium dioxide is made stable at room temperature by an addition of yttrium oxide. After shaping and sintering, Yttria-stabilized zirconia’s hardness reaches HV2500, and has good properties as wear resistance, anti-corrosion, high temperature resistance, as well as excellent finish surface.

 

Properties:

 

Powerful interatomic bonds endows zirconia ceramics not only with high hardness and wear resistance, but also a resistance to corrosion. Usually it has less hardness and brittleness than that of alumina ceramic, but has more elasticity, which means it is not as brittle as alumina ceramic. If hardness is not so exacting, zirconia parts are a good choice to be applied.
